Friday, 16 May 2014 by Vaughn Hromiko
[Updated 05/16/2014 at 12:15 P.M. Pacific Time.] Not withstanding the Senate’s overwhelming bipartisan support for the EXPIRE Act as demonstrated on Monday, a procedural move by Senate Democratic leaders has resulted in a (hopefully temporary) Republican revolt against the bill. (more…)

Last Chance for WOTC Extension This Year – Contact Your Senator Today

Tuesday, 10 December 2013 by Vaughn Hromiko

Efforts to date have failed to include an extension of the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) in any doc-fix legislation.  The Senate Finance committee has turned away efforts to include WOTC in the proposed doc-fix reform bill. While the reform bill awaits further revision, it will not be voted on until 2014.  In the mean time, a temporary doc-fix patch-up measure is expected to pass this week. (more…)

Monday, 07 October 2013 by Vaughn Hromiko

It is true that more important issues are currently before Congress. Tax Tug of War Continues – Tax Extenders Missing but Still on Radar

Wednesday, 25 July 2012 by Vaughn Hromiko

The U.S. Senate voted today to pass a Democrat version of the 2012 tax cut bill. The House of Representatives introduced its own Republican version yesterday and will vote on it next week.   While neither proposal addresses WOTC or the majority of other tax extenders, no one expects either version to become law.  And so the tug of war continues.
