    Sacramento – Senator Bill Emmerson (R-Hemet) introduced Senate Bill 156, a job-creating measure intended to stimulate the economy by offering a $3,000 tax credit to small businesses for each new full-time employee hired.

    According to the Sacramento Bee’s Capitol Alert this morning, enterprise zones are on the agenda at today’s 1:00 PM meeting of the Assembly Budget Subcommittee on State Administration and Taxation  (read more).  Supporters are preparing arguments that Governor Brown’s proposal to eliminate the program would be unconstitutional.   • New Legislation Announced to Reform and Preserve California EZ Program

    The pace is picking up in the debate between Governor Jerry Brown’s budget proposals and the California enterprise zone program.
    On Friday, Assemblyman and Chair of the Assembly Jobs Committee V. Manuel Perez unveiled three related bills to reform certain aspects of the enterprise zone program.   Perez is a strong supporter of enterprise zones and the proposed legislation seeks to preserve them in California. (more…)
