Dennis Donohue , Mayor of Salinas California, published a guest commentary today in the Monterey County Herald stating his opposition to Governor Jerry Brown’s proposal to eliminate California’s enterprise zone program and redevelopment agencies.
“From a policy standpoint, eliminating these important programs makes no sense,” says Donohue.
“There is no doubt that the state’s budget situation is dire, and it is well past time that the state faces the consequences of years of gimmicks and temporary budget fixes. But eliminating programs that create jobs and fuel economic growth is reckless and unwise.”
