If you or your clients would be adversely affected by the expiration of the WOTC program on December 31 (just one month away), then NOW is the time to contact your member of Congress.
You don’t have to speak with the member directly. Speak with the staff member that answers the phone. Send them a fax. Send them a letter. (Unless, you have an existing relationship with a specific member of your Congress person’s office, I don’t recommend relying on email.) The good news is in. The US House of Representatives has passed the VOW to Hire Heroes Act, which is now on its way to a signature by President Obama. This bill breaks new ground for WOTC in that it not only expands the qualifying categories and tax credit amounts for hiring veterans, it extends WOTC benefits to non-profits. (more…)

I received late arriving news on Tuesday from Paul Suplizio of the WOTC Coalition that Congressman Aaron Schock will be making the case for WOTC renewal at the House Republican luncheon today. The luncheon will be from noon until 1:00 PM (eastern), on Wednesday November 16th. (more…)
