North Carolina Governor Candidate Proposes $2,000 Unemployed Credit

An news article posted yesterday on WNCT 9 On Your Side outlines the positions of Democratic and Republican contenders for the North Carolina governorship.
Republican contender, businessman Pat McCrory is focused on overall tax reform — a “modernization” of North Carolina’s tax system to attract industry and create jobs.
Lt Governor Walter Dalton (Dem), on the other hand, is proposing a new tax credit.

“Well, as far as putting people back to work immediately, one thing I propose is a $2,000 tax credit for any business that will hire somebody who’s been unemployed for six months,” said Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton.
