Ohio State Senator Charleta Tavares (Dem) is the primary sponsor of Ohio Senate Bill 58, which creates a state tax credit for businesses that hire a “Qualified Reforming Felon.” My quick read of the bill suggests that this proposed Ohio tax credit is modeled strictly after the federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit’s Ex-felon target group.
SB 58 was introduced on February 1, 2011. So far, no additional action has been logged.
