Urgent WOTC Matter – Clarification and Re-Emphasis for April 26 Hearing

This is a follow up to my earlier post, including a second correspondence  this afternoon from the WOTC Coalition.
If you will, here is specifically what we each need to do.
Contact your Member of Congress and:

  • (a) Inform them that the Ways and Means Committee will hold a hearing on Tax Extenders on Thursday April 26th
  • (b) Emphasize to them that decisions flowing from the hearing may decide the future of WOTC and other tax extenders
  • (c) Urge them to submit a Statement for the Hearing Record advocating an extension of WOTC for 2012 until a decision can be made on the merits during tax reform

Note, this  statement must be submitted by May 10th.

Subject: Lobbying House To Support WOTC In Tax Extenders Hearing
April 20, 2012
To clarify and re-emphasize our previous message announcing the April 26th Ways and Means hearing on Tax Extenders:
The action required is for all Coalition members to contact their congressman, inform them that the Ways and Means Committee will hold a hearing on Tax Extenders on April 26th,  that decisions flowing from this hearing may decide the future of WOTC, and urge them to submit a statement for the hearing record by May 10th advocating an extension of WOTC for 2012 until a decision can be made during tax reform on this jobs program for the most severely unemployed people with disabilities, youth, seniors, welfare recipients, and veterans.
Those in touch with Ways and Means Committee members know who you are and are asked to make them your top priority from now until May 10th—the last day for submission of written comments. The message to them is the same as given above.
