Budget Impasse Buys More Time to Preserve California Enterprise Zones

I commented earlier today that the California legislature’s Budget Conference Committee has approved Governor Jerry Brown’s budget proposal, thus opening the way for open votes by the State Legislature later this week.
The NEWER news this morning is that Governor Brown has now acknowledged he doesn’t have the required votes in the California legislature to pass his initiative. See the video and related article on the Sacramento Bee’s Capitol Alert, which was posted at 11:56 this morning.
As this drags out now into more serious budget negotiations, friends of California’s enterprise zone program will probably have at least a few more weeks to reach out to legislators.
