Last week on November 21, Republican Representative Ron Wright of Texas introduced H.R.5250 to the House Ways and Means Committee. H.R.5250 is the Veterans Back to Work Act of 2019
What’s this bill do?
While its text has not yet been published, according to Congress.gov, the bill would:
- make WOTC permanent
- provide employers an employment tax exemption equal in value to WOTC tax credit generated by qualifying veterans
This brings the number of WOTC-related bills in the current Congress up to at least eighteen. It is co-sponsored by Democrat Stanford Bishop of Georgia.
